In this historic farmyard setting, a modern addition to the home had changed the relationship of the buildings. In response to the new space, the driveway was reconfigured to improve circulation and accessibility for the homeowner. The irregular layout of the buildings was connected with a series of curved retaining walls and open lawn space. In addition to matching the existing stone, these walls were designed to direct guests to maneuver through the limited space available. Future planting of trees and gardens has been considered and planned for. The family is anticipating adding to the landscape in the coming years.
