Terraced Steps
Winter Entrance - Windham, Vermont
At this second home used primarily during the winter season, the homeowners wanted to improve access to their second-floor front entrance. Taking inspiration from surrounding beaver ponds, this design of terraced steps mimics several levels of water spilling successively downstream. Custom curved granite steps add to the sense of fluidity while moving through the space. Built-in heating elements keep this entrance accessible and visible throughout the year.
