Wetland Restoration - Jamaica, Vermont

This site originally held a series of outdated ski chalets orientated around a forgotten fishing pond. The client wanted to create a pond that would be more comfortable for swimming and would also attract local wildlife. In the new space, the majority of the buildings were removed and their materials were recycled. The new pond was reshaped, and the depth was increased. The west end of the pond was re-established as a wetland for wildlife. Plantings around the pond give the site a sense of enclosure and privacy. A path leading around the pond's perimeter enables numerous experiences while connecting the pond site to the rest of the property.
